飛奈淳一（竹内涼真）が捜査を担当するスーパー店長殺人事件で、由々しき事態が発生した。行方不明の凶器はあろうことか、23年前の現金輸送車強盗事件で殉職した巡査長・清原和雄（弓削智久）の拳銃だと判明。しかも、それは淳一が23年前、仲が良かった同級生――今回の事件の容疑者として浮上した初恋の相手・岩本万季子（井上真央）、和雄の息子・清原圭介（瀬戸康史）、今回殺された店長の弟・佐久間直人（渡辺大知）とともに密かに持ち去り、埋めたはずの拳銃だった！
報告を受け、人知れず激しく動揺する淳一。一方、彼とバディを組む南良理香子（江口のりこ）は、万季子が事件前日にスーパーを訪れた目的について嘘をついていると直感し、店内の防犯カメラ映像や通話記録を確認。やがて万季子に加え、ある意外な人物に対しても疑惑の念を抱き始め…。
時を同じくして、複雑な思いに駆られながらも事件の真相を追い続ける淳一は、同級生3人にあの日拳銃を封印したタイムカプセルを掘り起こし、開けようと持ちかけるのだが…!?
