Due to the departure of Western publishers, Stanislav Mirsky decides to create a Russian product, he wants to keep the name and the staff of specialists as much as possible. The editor-in-chief Zhilin is not going to sign up for this and leaves the editorial board. Mirsky is faced with the task of finding a new editor-in-chief, the representative of the holding company - Joseph Gorelkin offers to sell everything and get an impressive amount of money, but Stas stands his ground and asks for help in finding a new head.

Oleg Proskuryakov, the deputy editor-in-chief, gives the new boss a brief tour of the office, after which Inozemtsev asks for a meeting with the remaining employees. He decides to call the magazine “Lamp”, his vision is not supported by any of the employees, but he does not care much. In parallel, Sasha decides to honestly tell Maria that he approved her ex-fiancé for the position of editor-in-chief. For her it becomes a big surprise, she calls Konstantin and tries to dissuade him from this idea - advises him to focus on writing a novel. Inozemtsev insists on his own.

Mirsky is angry about Inozemtsev's antics at the interview, because of which they may lose advertising and sponsors. He demands from Gorelkin to change Konstantin for another candidate, because he is not going to work with him. The newly minted editor-in-chief himself goes out to his friend Protasov with the offer of a year's advertising of his mediocre series on the pages of the magazine entrusted to his leadership. He is forced to refuse, claiming that he has no spare money for such an adventure, but suggests that he turn to their mutual acquaintance Lopakhin.

Gorelkin advises Inozemtsev to create his own Telegram channel to counter Drozdova's attacks. He listens and after a few minutes begins to respond to all messages defaming his name. Mirsky continues to play a double game, pretends, in a conversation with Mirsky, that he also condemns the behavior of his chief editor. In parallel, Vika Genis receives an assignment to take a report from Konstantin. She is immediately invited to visit him, where she starts collecting material for her article “from the inside”. Unexpectedly, Masha and Protasov appear in his apartment. Each makes his own conclusions from the situation, for the second this situation is comparable to unpleasant deja vu, because Vika has already promised not to see Inozemtsev ...

Masha goes to Inozemtsev to bring him up to speed on her Sasha's plan with Gorelkin. Konstantin is not at all embarrassed by the information he hears, he intends to prove that he will manage to produce the first issue. Moreover, he gets down on his knee and offers Masha to become his wife, she guffaws and leaves his apartment. He decides not to retreat, so he goes to the flower store in the morning and orders a large-scale delivery of scarlet roses to the address of his favorite woman. Later, as a result of his conversation with Mirsky, Inozemtsev determines before the magazine team the main theme of the issue. He expresses the idea that it is time to abandon pseudo-heroes and focus on ordinary people. He also proposes to invite Dolina to the magazine as a co-editor.

Masha's morning at the office begins with a huge number of scarlet roses delivered on behalf of Inozemtsev. She smilingly recalls the moment of their life together, captured on the sent photo, until her nostalgia is broken by the appearance of Alexander. He asks the bride to leave the office, after which he throws all the flowers off the roof of the office building. And a little later, calls Inozemtsev to demand that he stay away from Masha. From the conversation with Konstantin he not only realizes that he knows about their plan with Gorelkin, but also learns that Inozemtsev also made Masha an offer to become his wife ...

Alexander directly tells Mirsky about his desire to buy the building. The latter is not going to discuss the sale of his brainchild, even despite threats from the opposite side. Stas declares that he is not going to give up his brainchild and is ready to fight for the building and the magazine. Meanwhile, Inozemtsev, without waiting for the results of tests, leaves the hospital and goes to the publishing house, where he offers to buy the material that gave him to read Vova. The publisher is not ready to pay up front, and suggests that they return to this issue in a few days, when he is fully familiarized with the material.

Inozemtsev gives a statement to the police about their scuffle with producer Drozdova. The investigator advises the editor-in-chief to sign an amicable settlement, but he does not intend to do so. In parallel, Pekarev accuses Drozdova of what happened and advises her to apologize for her words, otherwise she will suffer the same fate as Inozemtsev. The woman, having learned that he wrote a statement to the police on the writer, demands to take him away, or will follow him when she accuses him of rape.

Inozemtsev, despite the torment of conscience, receives an advance for the sold novel Vova. At the same time, Arina shares with Proskuryakov her plans for future appointments. In the process of conversation, it becomes clear to him that his woman was alone with Alexander until midnight. The one, in turn, lies to Masha that he spent the evening leisure time with Gorelkin...

Inozemtsev returns to the office and receives the first copy of the printed novel based on Vova's manuscripts. Proskuryakov, taking advantage of Arina's excursion to the shower, is convinced of his suspicions about her meetings with Alexander... Meanwhile, Masha relaxes at a bachelorette party, and Gorelkin keeps a friend company in a strictly male company at the club.
