Film director Gurinder Chadha explores the events surrounding the Partition of India in 1947, which saw the creation of the new nation of Pakistan and led to violence, disruption and death. Gurinder crosses India, meeting people whose lives were torn apart by the division and talking to historians to find out the motivations behind the split.
