39-45: The German Resistance Fighters

Often forgotten by history, many Germans fought against the Third Reich and among them, many women. Having become resistant, some fought against Nazism with all the means at their disposal despite the extreme violence of the Nazi regime and the terrible Gestapo. At the risk of their lives, they transmitted confidential information, distributed anti-Nazi leaflets and saved Jews from deportation to a concentration camp. Arrested, they were imprisoned, deported, executed. Fallen into oblivion after 1945, some of them are now emerging from the shadows, like Sophie Scholl, an emblematic figure of the German resistance group, the White Rose. Through their destinies and their commitment, this documentary tells the forgotten story of German resistance in women, the story of those who rose up against their homeland.
