Paris the great saga
Capital of Change (1x1)
Air date: Dec 11, 2014
Some archeologists found the first signs of Paris habitation on the side of the Seine (Nowadays Bercy), strategic place for maritime transport. From there, the narration brings us to the evolution of the city into a modest roman city: Lutèce. Urbanistic ambitions ended up in the expansion of the left bank, the creation of the Cardo (Nowadays rue Saint-Jacques) and the construction of the forum and the thermal baths. The decline of the Roman Empire allowed Christians to take control of the city. The Saint-Geneviève Church and the Saint-Apôtres monastery are examples of the city’s revival.
