Narad informs Mahadev that he wants Indradev to win, despite his unjustifiable attack on Nigas. Indradev asks Nigas to accept his coalition. Later, Shankhchur warns Indradev not to attack Nigas, if he wants to keep himself secured. Lohitang enquires Pippalada about the jyotirling, which was established by a demon. Pippalada informs Lohitang that a giantess, Daruka, worshipped Parvati for a boon. He narrates the story of Kedarnath to Lohitang, and tells him that Nar and Narayan worshipped Mahadev.
