After Katie had fainted, Nick and Bridget reveal to Brooke that Dr. Patrick had informed them that Katie is rejecting the transplanted heart and only has a few weeks to live. Katie overhears the conversation and is devastated to learn of her fate. Felicia is taken aback at seeing a vulnerable and defeated side of Stephanie. Later, Stephanie returns for her forgotten keys and kisses a picture of Eric, as a symbolic final goodbye. Eric’s irate reaction to Donna’s confession about Marcus being her son pulls Donna out of her daydream and causes her to change her mind. Marcus becomes frustrated when he learns that Donna has not yet told Eric the truth.
