Robert agreed with Mark's observation about the price difference between the two DVRs - online pricing for the Series3 is about $550 and the standard HD DVR costs about $250. Compared to the TiVo HD DVR, the Series3 provides slightly more hard drive storage space for recording shows, an OLED front display, and a fully backlit remote control. The Series3 is also the first (and only) DVR to be THX certified that helps insure optimal sound and video quality.
