Later, the old woman ties Subbu and Maria and effigy ghosts surround them. JD learns that effigy ghosts are attracted by a symbol and destroys it from Subbu and Maria's body. JD draws the same symbol near the old woman's house and effigy ghosts surround her house. Subbu captures the ghosts after a ghost kills the old woman's husband. The old woman informs JD that their ancestors killed the tribal people to acquire their lands and she offers humans to pacify their souls.
