Elisa's Italian School

Say THIS instead! ???? (1x57)

Air date: Nov 11, 2025

If you want to sound more natural when speaking Italian, especially when talking about food, this expression is essential! In this video, I show you how to use “sapere di / sa di…” to say “it tastes like” in Italian and I’ll demonstrate while cooking a simple frittata ???????????? A lot of Italian learners only use “è buono” or “mi piace” but native speakers often say “sa di…” to describe flavors. Example: • Sa di limone. → It tastes like lemon. • La pasta sa di aglio. → The pasta tastes like garlic. • Sa di casa. → It tastes like home. ❤️ In the video I’ll quickly review the verb sapere (to know) and show how adding DI completely changes the meaning to “tastes like.” Perfect for beginners and intermediate Italian learners!
