He also confesses that years before he had saved her from drowning. Saddened by the ordeal her daughter had suffered in secret, which she never managed to uncover, Leticia confides in Father Benigno. After sharing her pain, he finally reveals that Jovita is the true mother of two powerful brothers in the region. Because of Covadonga, Gus discovers Leonel's deep secret. Disappointed and in tears, he goes to his father to complain about hiding the fact that he was not his real father. Furious upon learning that Alba had failed to protect Gus from the evil surrounding him, Leonel shows no mercy. The farmer does not contradict his sister's orders and also asks her to leave his land.
