Carolina seeks out Óscar to confess that she will turn herself in to the authorities, but he, suspicious and hurt, rejects her without giving her another chance. Óscar learns from Father Gabriel that Moisés's mother came to Monteverde to rescue her son, who was ripped from her arms nine years ago.
