Determined to thwart Óscar's plans, Mother Gustava and Sister Celeste travel to Monteverde, hoping to make him reconsider. But tensions boil over when Óscar mercilessly confronts Sister Celeste and calls her a liar. Carolina confesses to her lawyer that she is willing to turn herself in to the authorities. However, her lawyer stops her and warns her that, before taking this step, they need a legal strategy. Sister Celeste confesses to Mother Gustava that a love blossomed between Óscar and Carolina, and that before leaving Monteverde, her sister Carolina revealed her true identity to her. The superior, moved by the revelation, concludes that Óscar's behavior is nothing more than that of a scorned and heartbroken man. Sister Celeste gives Óscar the letter written by Carolina; he tears it up, but Celeste doesn't stop and gives him a second letter, confirming what her sister Carolina confessed to her.
