Óscar can't believe his best friend got involved with Eva and also destroyed Franco's life by taking his mother away from him. Néstor expresses his regret but no longer believes her. Eva confesses to Father Gabriel that she cheated on Óscar with Néstor and the reason was because she felt alone and found comfort in him. Eva seeks out Óscar to talk about Néstor, but he is filled with contempt and swears he doesn't care and that it's best for her to leave, as he never wants to see her for the rest of her life. Hugo tells Carolina that Carlos has arrived in Monteverde and that it would be best to hide; as they leave the inn, they see him arriving.
