Andrés demands that his mother leave Monteverde, since Óscar has fallen in love. She denies that such feelings are true and assures him that no man should be interested in a nun. Carolina is forced to reveal to Father Gabriel that she is, in fact, Carolina, Celeste's twin sister, and that she assumed this identity because she is hiding from the authorities for a crime she did not commit. Upon learning that Sister Celeste has given up her room to the Mother Superior, Óscar offers her his house for the night. Mother Gustava arrives at Óscar's farm to make a phone call, however, she finds Sister Celeste instead.
