In the first segment, Alvin and Elizabeth dye Easter eggs and get into an argument about the usefulness of having a rabbit for a pet. In the second segment, Elizabeth has returned to night school and returns home with her first homework project - the creation of a vase using potter's clay. In the third segment, Alvin and Elizabeth are replacing all the dying flowers in the backyard while Babs, their less-than-helpful neighbor, chops down the shrubs that are still living.
