In a display of vanity and excess, like many Dubai mega projects, the Dubai Creek Tower was set to be the tallest structure ever built by humans, a $1 billion symbol of the cities engineering might. But, after it had been announced in 2016 and following some major construction work, the project was just left abandoned. Nearly a decade later, the mega project has been seemingly forgotten about and the planned city around it has yet to materialize.
