Amidst the celebrations for the arrival of the new year and the beginning of the century, Leonel desperately searches for his wife. After walking through several streets of the city, his heart breaks when he sees Julia in the arms of Aldo, who has been his trusted man for years. Happy to know that Gregorio loves her, Alba cannot hide her discomfort at the pressure exerted by her brother and grandmother on her fiancé to help them overcome the economic crisis they are facing and to regain their prestige. Just when Alba is about to join her life to Gregorio's, with God's blessing, a mysterious woman appears in the church to interrupt the ceremony. She reveals herself to be the fiancé's real wife and accuses Alba of trying to take him away from her.
