Cool Worlds
The Darkest World (2016x20)
Air date: Jul 10, 2016
TrES-2b is the darkest known exoplanet ever detected, reflecting less light than black paint. Prof Kipping, who helped discover the extreme low reflectivity back in 2011, explains how it was found, why this object was chosen for analysis in the first place and what physically could be causing the planet to be so dark.
