Pylon pioneered a post-punk new wave sound in the late 70's and early 80's in Athens, GA, that has filtered through to hundreds of bands over the years. They were The B-52's and R.E.M.'s favorite band, toured with bands like Gang of Four, U2, Mission of Burma, and Talking Heads, and their original practice space was the original 40 Watt.
