Croatian identity has been marked throughout its history by the influence of different historical periods and the empires that have occupied it. A true cultural crossroads, the country was the scene of Roman, Byzantine, Venetian, Hungarian and French invasions of which it still bears the stigmata. Today it is the witness of a common European history. Croatia truly became independent on June 25, 1991 during the collapse of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. It is through the Wonders of Unesco which stand on these lands that we will tell the rich history of a country with many facets. The multiple cultural identities that inhabit it have left an extraordinary heritage and intangible heritage.
