In October 1972, Marie-Claire Chevalier was put on trial in Bobigny for having chosen to have an abortion. The Bobigny “trials” followed, demonstrating the injustice of the legislation in force. Three years later, in 1975, the law legalizing voluntary interruption of pregnancy was promulgated in France.
