Lucrecia is very upset after being forced to marry Ignacio. While the young woman looks for an escape, Mercedes advises her to reach an agreement with her husband. Leontina and Buenaventura have a love encounter in the boss's room. While Herminia spies on them from a closet, Leonor discovers them. José Luis is not happy with Manuel's presence and goes to bother him and they both have a fight. On the other hand, Violeta tells Luis Emilio that she saw her father abusing María and is afraid that he will do the same to her. The young man only wants to play with the tenant and asks her for "proof of love" so that he can think of revealing to everyone the supposed love he has for her. Lucrecia decides to ask Herminia for help to escape from the marriage and both go to Manuel, who could hide her for a few days. The next day, José Luis finds a letter from his daughter-in-law and demands that Mercedes explain to him why she left the hacienda.
