Starting with Tolstoy, the first master to be documented in moving images, the Jazz Age that blossomed in 1920s America, Hollywood, the movie capital built by Jewish immigrants, Picasso and Chaplin who continued to resist the Nazis, and the Beatles and Bob Dylan who whipped the postwar baby boom generation into a frenzy. The film also traces the 20th century through footage of David Bowie's legendary live performances, which led to the fall of the Berlin Wall. Rare footage of Anne Frank also makes an appearance.
