A new case for Finn Zehender: The private detective has set up his home in the north German village of Aschberg. The two village policemen are no longer his competitors either, but have almost become friends. Village policeman Mühlfellner fatally hits a carrier pigeon in a playful shootout. At their foot is a letter with which a kidnapped man asks for help. Finn and the village police officers Anna Wippermann and Gerd Mühlfellner visit the local small animal breeders' association, where there is a large pigeon aviary. To everyone's surprise, the police in the form of Hamburg Commissioner Christiane Garde are already there.
