Social Work is a growth industry: each day thousands of social workers, some professional, some voluntary, attempt to unravel the lives of their 'clients.' Some critics say they are merely papering over the cracks. Should they be more involved? Social workers themselves are becoming unsure of their role. They know they are needed, but to do what?
