Jupiter (SciCast #432) (2021x21)
Air date: May 21, 2021
Time to talk about the greatest of the planets. Yes, Jupiter, the big one. After the asteroid belt that follows Mars, we begin to encounter a different category of planets: the gas giants. Compared to the terrestrial planets (Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars), the gas giants are more massive and less dense. The largest of these is Jupiter, which has had a gigantic historical importance (excuse the pun) for the history of our knowledge of the Universe.
