Lulu Bergantim (Tom Cavalcanti) is the newest citizen of Curralzinho Novo. In just six months in the peaceful city, the pharmacist has already performed several miraculous cures and is adored by the people. The mayor of the place, Cajuca Viana (Othon Bastos), is a thief and is running for a second term. Encouraged by Adrenalina Tupinambá (Débora Duarte), the teacher at the only school in the area, and by Epaminondas (Claudio Correa e Castro), the only judge, Lulu Bergantim decides to run for election with Cajuca. The pharmacist wins and, in an unusual and amusing way, starts to tidy up the city. The climate of harmony ends when the new mayor, Lulu Bergantim, discovers that he is being betrayed.
