Check out this Thai MRE - it is one of the most delicious, simple, effective, and straight forward lightweight ration packs currently in production. Being 50% lighter than a standard U.S. MRE, this ration is exceptionally portable and compact. Certainly one to look for, albeit somewhat uncommon on any ration market currently.
