On the 21st of November, 2013, the roof of the Zolitūde Shopping Center in Riga, Latvia, collapsed without warning, trapping almost a hundred staff and customers within. The disaster – which was the worst to take place in Latvia in almost 60 years – would change the country forever, with consequences that reached all the way up to the highest ranks of government.
