As winter ends, Munich enjoys its Fasching, an uninhibited pre-Lenten spree. With daunting stamina the town dedicates itself to six noisy weeks of dressing-up and celebrating into the small hours. A few million sausages and seas of Bavarian beer sustain the revellers until the frenzied climax.
