Meanwhile, Kiefer, beginning her research in Gasark about the Iino Doue, is interrupted by Riphal, who offers to have tea with her. Tiir Rumibul, who is easily able to consume flesh and absorb magic, cuts off Claugh's arm and slaughter much of the task force.
