Ridge is put on the hot seat when Thorne grills him about why he and Brooke broke up. Eric reminds Ridge that he knows what it is like to lose Brooke to his son and how difficult she is to get over. When Brooke explains how she had told Ridge to move on with Taylor, Hope urges her mother not to let go of Ridge so easily. Taylor expresses her gratitude to Stephanie for helping her reunite with Ridge. When Steffy gloats about her parents’ reunion, Hope bursts her bubble with her theory about Thomas’ part in Brooke and Ridge’s breakup. Brooke and Ridge share a painful and emotional “goodbye”.
