A tragic accident during a wild chase. Policewoman Anna Engelhardt is forced off the road by a criminal in such an unfortunate way that she ends up in the front yard of a house. A woman and her baby die in the front yard, but the criminal manages to escape. The surviving widower Kemmer believes that Anna is entirely to blame for the death of his family. He sues her for damages and compensation. But Anna is acquitted, something the grieving man cannot accept. Kemmer swears revenge and plans to kill Engelhardt's friend and his young son.
