New music series that explores the deep connections that link Scottish and Irish music. Each show gives young musicians the chance to meet their musical heroes. In this episode, musician Pàdruig Morrison from Grimsay in the Western Isles reveals how his upbringing informs his playing style. As well as performing with his musical peers in Grimsay, Pàdruig joins Bríd Harper, the Co Donegal musician and one of the finest Irish traditional fiddlers of her generation. Megan Nic Fhionnghaile from Gaoth Dobhair is an award-winning fiddle player who grew up surrounded by the songs and traditional music of her area. Megan outlines her life in music and is excited when one of her musical heroes, Phil Cunningham, travels to Belfast to perform with Megan.
