In the past few years, Walt Disney has fallen in love with the idea of churning out live-action remakes and spinoffs of their beloved animated classics. Movies like Mulan, The Jungle Book, The Lion King, Aladdin and more have all gotten the live-action. Now, it’s the turn of 101 Dalmatians. Kind of. Cruella definitely raises some questions. Like how do you make a villain known for wanting to skin dogs engaging as a protagonist? What’s up with all the music? How did Cruella set up that parachute? Did we really need know the origin of her name? Are Pongo and Perdita brother and sister? Why did she give people dogs? Is it even possible for Emma Stone’s Cruella to turn into the Cruella De Ville that people know? If not, why is this a thing?
