At the veterinary hospital where he works, Hakuro receives an anonymous letter saying that his stepfather, Yasuharu, is going to be murdered that night. He dismisses it as a prank, but Kaede believes someone is trying to warn him Yasuharu’s life is truly in danger. Together they visit the Yajima residence that evening to check on Yasuharu, and Hakuro opens up to Kaede about his complex feelings toward his stepfather. Then Kaeda proposes a plan to foil the intended murder.
