She soon packs up and leaves for Herzegovina, where she will start a new independent life as a court clerk. A certain Ruža, a friend from the occupation era, comes to Aunt Nada's house. It turns out that Ruža is the mother of Nenad the aviator. They are planning how to make something happen between Anđelka and Ruža's brother Uglješ, who was also married.
