Daniel Vergne, a wealthy entrepreneur, is found dead by poisoning in his hotel room in Bordeaux. He had made his fortune in Silicon Valley and returned to the city of his youth at a "New Tech" show. At the time of his death, he had just had dinner with his former prep classmates. During their investigations, Mongeville and Valentine discover a façade of friendship.
