Five months ago, Dr. Tenma began rigorous firearms training with a former army veteran named Hugo Bernhardt who was taking also care of an angry orphaned girl whose mother he shot dead in Myanmar. During his time there, Dr. Tenma creates a new bond between the girl and the veteran, and later when questioned by Inspector Lunge, Bernhardt refuses to disclose Dr. Tenma's location.
