Margaret tells Laurent that she's soon going to deliver the final blow to the Cheval-Serpent. Dorice points out to David that his hostility towards Julien stems from Julien's interest in Simone. David actually argues with his daughter about this. Franck is late for rehearsal and showtime is approaching. Simone and David make a concerted effort to reach him. Unbeknownst to them, a major plot is unfolding against the Cheval-Serpent.
