Mackay is promoted to Inspector and is preparing for a transfer to Ballarat when a threat is made against his life. Carl Warren Lee, who made the threat, is a psychopath who lies in wait with a rifle, but shoots dead Fox by mistake as he and Mackay get out of a car. Notes: Final episode with Leonard Teale as Det.
