Kate heads back to see if families' dream moves have brought all they hoped for. She returns to Shropshire, meeting the Goldby family who traded in suburban Epsom for a quiet hamlet.

Fifteen months since her last visit, Kate catches up with Simon Dibb and Kirsty MacDonald, who sold their Hemel Hempstead terraced home and moved to a traditional Welsh farmhouse in Pembrokeshire with their son Seth. She finds they have welcomed a whole host of new animals to their growing smallholding, not to mention new baby Amos

The presenter revisits rural Carmarthenshire, where mum Helen, dad Ash, their two sons Ben and Joe, plus a small menagerie of animals relocated from Reading. With 18 acres to manage, animals to rehome and plans to attract glampers to the site, it required a serious amount of work and commitment from the whole family. Kate returns to see the hard graft that's gone into this new life.

Kate heads to Wales to meet Richard, Dawn, Karli, Matt and their three daughters, who sold their Cardiff homes and moved to rural Ceredigion. They bought a Welsh longhouse with gardens, polytunnels, and a wood-fired pizzeria, aiming to revive it as a local attraction. Now mortgage-free, they're learning to live off the land and run a café and pizzeria.

Kate visits Shetland to catch up with the Cook family, who left Exeter for Yell. Did their dream of a simpler, debt-free life survive COVID and financial strain?
