The cameras follow Alex, who lived in Canada for years but is now trying to find a job in London and Sandu, a Roma gypsy forced to live in extreme poverty who has come to Britain to feed his family. Stefan speaks limited English and works as a living statue and has been taking advantage of the services that the country has to offer.

The show takes a look at the reality of life in Romania and the motivation behind the influx of Romanian immigrants coming to Britain. e reality of life in Romania and the motivation behind the influx of Romanian immigrants in the UK. Mihalia is a middle-class nurse who lives with her husband, daughter and elderly mother. In London, Alex has his first full-time job working in a warehouse, but the pay is not enough to cover his rent and he's still sleeping on the streets. Christian has been checked into hospital suffering with TB.
