Wild Corridors

How ecological corridors have helped the desert lion prosper in the the Kunene Region of north western Namibia.

To preserve Romanian wildlife, a 150km-long passage was created in 2010: the Zarand corridor. For bears, this gateway is key to survival.

At the foot of the Himalayas, between India and Nepal, is the Terai region. Here, Bengal tigers live in numbers. But considered a threat, they almost went extinct under the blows of hunters, poachers and deforestation. Today, the Khata corridor is a new promising sign of their prosperity.

In the south of France, a 700km gateway connects two large mountain ranges: the Pyrenees and the Alps. But the presence of man on this territory has led to the disappearance of species. Today, the corridor has been restored in order to reintroduce wild animals, including the largest and rarest of vultures.
