Raising Notre-Dame

On the night of April 15-16, 2019, fire ravaged Notre Dame de Paris. After the fright and the consolidation phase of the building, scientists, engineers and craftsmen began a spectacular work, recounted in this documentary series, to restore the cathedral.

Despite its fractures, the cathedral did not collapse in the days following the disaster. How can this resistance be explained ? And how can the building be rebuilt with the same stability ?

Thanks to a remote-controlled robot, INRAP archaeologists were able to scan the entire floor of the cathedral and uncover two sarcophagi and over two hundred blocks and fragments of polychrome sculptures.
