Little Robots

Sporty has invented 'botball' which entails kicking a tin can as hard as he can and shouting 'goal!' Stripy doesn't notice the tin can landing on Teddy and panics, thinking his little friend has gone missing. The Little Robots search everywhere but in the end it's Messy who finds him - squashed inside the can.

Spotty is having one of her routine inspection days when Rusty reports a strange encounter at the Oasis. It takes Spotty no time at all to deduce that an intruder has broken into the Little Robot world and they are about to be invaded. She quickly mobilises a Little Robot task force to deal with the crisis only to get captured herself. Soon, however, she discovers what we knew all along - the so-called invader is really Stretchy's latest invention, a remotely-controlled Collectabot.

Tiny oversleeps and doesn't turn the day on until way past time, so Stretchy decides to make a waker-upper machine, with a little help from Noisy. It performs admirably but Stretchy has forgotten to include a switcher-offer switch. They take it to the Wasteland where, it is hoped, it will run down. But Noisy has other ideas and with Tiny's help, turns it into a musical instrument.

Scary has a problem. His ghost train is not working and he had planned to invite everyone to a ghost train party! Sporty, meanwhile, has decided to see just how fast he can run. Unfortunately for him he gets stuck in go mode and speeds through the Little Robot world causing havoc. Tiny ingeniously manages to solve both problems with the help of Sporty's treadmill.

The Sparky Twins ask Scary if they can borrow Flappy to be in their new show. Scary's not keen but agrees, only to change his mind as soon as they have taken her. The Sparkies, practising their juggling, accidentally bop Flappy on the head and she flies off erratically into the night! They panic, but with the help of Messy and a trail of bat shapes across the Little Robot world, Flappy is eventually found.

Scary wishes the bunting he's put up would flutter, so Tiny offers to build him a wind machine. Scary can't keep his fingers off the buttons and the wind machine goes berserk, blowing him into the Nut and Bolt tree. Tiny has to work out how to stop the wind machine, and he literally rises to the occasion and proves himself a hero.

Stripy steps on the Sparkies' rollaplank and crashes into Noisy's house, damaging it badly. Tiny offers to repair it and Stripy suggests that Noisy stays with him in the meantime. But the arrangement is not ideal - Noisy is very noisy and Stripy doesn't like having his peace and quiet disturbed. The Sparkies and Tiny each come up with a solution - but their solutions lead to more trouble!

The Little Robots are doing their Busy Bot jobs and Sporty finishes first. The others ask him to help them finish their jobs but soon it is all out of control because he cannot keep up. Tiny cannot believe they have left Sporty to do everything while they play Botball and when they find him, he is malfunctioning. Tiny repairs him but he does not want to rest so Tiny suggests that the Little Robots do Sporty's exercises while he calls out the instructions!

It is almost Metal Makes Us Special Day, a happy day when the Little Robots celebrate what they are made of! Tiny tells them to start the procession of floats in the Oasis and head back to the Nut and Bolt Tree but it all becomes chaotically competitive. They finally agree it has been a huge success when they sing their song: Metal Makes Us Special!

Spotty has decided that the Little Robot world is a bit lax in safety terms and starts checking everything to ensure that standards are lifted. Scary will have to issue safety warnings at the Ghost Train, Stretchy is not to pile his junk so high and Tiny is just not safe up the Nut and Bolt Tree without his harness. Spotty climbs high to survey the Little Robot world - only to find out that she is afraid of heights and Tiny has to talk her down.

The Sparkies, Spotty and Scary all need help from Tiny. He sorts out their problems - but not one of them remembers to say thank you. Tiny decides he is going to snooze and let them get on with it. Then Spotty gets the Clean Machine stuck in reverse and causes chaos, but Tiny tells her he is too busy to help. But he does help Flappy and she thanks him loudly. Scary works out that Tiny doesn't mind doing anything for any of them, but he does like a thank you!

Rusty is expecting Sporty, but it's Spotty who turns up. Unfortunately she has a tumble on the stairs, loosens a screw and gets stuck in demolition ball mode. She wrecks Rusty's home and ends up wedged against the door, trapping her. Stretchy comes to the rescue, lifting Tiny up to the opening in the roof, and soon Spotty's screw is back where it should be and all's well.

The Sparkies find a box of bits that they turn into vehicles with joysticks. They discover if they twiddle them, they can make the Robobirds spin round on their perches, Stripy whirls and Sporty jumps up and down when he doesn't want to! Tiny investigates and decides that he's got to stop them before it all gets out of hand. With a quick tweak of the joystick when they're not looking, Tiny has the Sparkies cartwheeling out of control and landing in a heap beside the Nut and Bolt Tree!
