It's the first of the semi-finals and the six best cooks from around the country are competing for the trophy. They face their most daunting challenge so far - cooking at London Zoo. Split into two teams of three, they must prepare a sumptuous two-course lunch for the penguin keepers, using basic outside kitchens and with only barbecues to cook on. The contestants now need to work as a team as well as battle the wind and rain to produce a fancy two-course lunch on time.
Then it's back to the MasterChef kitchen, where they must cook just one exceptional dish to stay in the competition. The young culinary stars will have to cook their hearts out to impress because this is the knock-outs and at the end of the cook-off, two contestants will be sent home.

As the semi-finals continue it's sports day in the MasterChef kitchen, and as the end of the competition draws closer the pressure is on to deliver for the final four cooks in the competition. First up is a skills circuit test where the contestants must complete four basic tasks in the quickest time possible. With challenges such as shelling peas and separating egg whites will their skills be up to scratch? And who will get the fastest time?
Then the judges ask the final four to cook a dish - crab, prawn and mussel ravioli - but with a twist. They must work in relay teams and cook the dish with a recipe in one hour. One team member will start and finish the dish, whilst the other takes on the middle leg. The pressure is ramped even higher when as well as impressing John and Donal they must also impress a surprise guest judge...
Only one of these four talented cooks can take the title of Junior MasterChef 2014.
