A successful volleyball coach Mikhail Kovalev will be disqualified for another case of unsportsmanlike behavior. Zhdanova was appointed the new head of the volleyball federation, which, with the help of her influence, deprives Mikhail of work in the club and office apartment, and generally intends to permanently expel Kovalev from professional sports. The only person who can convince Zhdanova is her first coach, Mikhail’s mother, Valentina Pavlovna, with whom Mikhail has not talked for 10 years. Kovalev is completely unsatisfied with the level of players on his team, so he decides to announce admission to the university team in order to at least strengthen the team. The team members are furious, they come to the vice-rector for educational work Irina Shevchenko and sign a petition that they do not intend to train under the leadership of Mikhail. The second coach, Alyosha, goes in search of a rented apartment for Mikhail.

Several key players of the team are going to be expelled from the university. Mikhail cannot allow this, so he is negotiating a “tail closure” with their teacher, Julia Sergeevna. Christina is trying to prove to her friend Lele that work and training can be combined. Alyosha wants to prove to Mikhail that he can be relied on, therefore, despite the ban, he takes responsibility for accepting and assembling a new expensive machine for working off innings.

On the eve of his first game, Michael introduces a hard mode for the team. To make it easier to observe, the girls decide to spend the night at home with Christina, whose parents left the city. Michael in his car accidentally collides with Irina’s car on the road, but despite the meager damage, she does not agree to part with the world.

In the morning before the game, Mikhail, girls and Alyosha leave the bullpen thanks to the connections of Father Christina - Pavel. Alyosha goes home for Lele for the command form, while the team and Mikhail go to prepare for the game. Christina begins to suspect that Michael is her father. The stakes are rising, because due to the machinations of Irina, the fate of the team now depends on the outcome of the game.

Due to the closure of the team, Mikhail goes on a spree, and then decides to return to Moscow to work as a commentator. To do a paternity test, Christina is trying to prevent Michael from leaving. Girls want to return financing to the team, for this they organize a protest in front of the city hall.

During the game, a conflict erupts between Rita and Lelei, which leads the team to defeat. Michael initially does not plan to intervene, but after the whole team is drawn into a showdown, he is forced to resort to emergency measures. Irina is looking for financing to replace the wiring of a new computer class, so she tries to find out who sponsors the volleyball team.

Due to repairs in the hostel, Alyosha moves to a rented apartment with Mikhail. Taisia pulls out the girls with a whining about her excess weight, and they decide to tighten the scales to calm her. Mikhail is sure that he is Christina’s biological father, so he is trying to discourage the guy in whom he sees himself in his youth. Lelya goes on the offensive and tries to seduce Kovalev.

Michael can not allow her condition to affect the upcoming game, so for the sake of victory, he invites Lele to meet. Alyosha decided to express his feelings and is preparing a beautiful declaration of love for Lelia. The rector of the university in the eyes of the commission appropriates all the merits of Irina, thereby infuriating her. In retaliation, she begins to rigidly "drown" the rector, revealing to the commission the unpleasant truth about the state of affairs in the NPPI

Michael wakes up in Irina’s apartment - yesterday’s evening together brought them closer. Michael invites Pavel, the owner of a local poultry farm, to become the team’s new sponsor. Natasha, Christina’s mother, is against this because she doesn’t want Michael and Christina to communicate. Out of gratitude, Lelya agrees to go on a date with Alyosha. Irina, despite the demotion, is trying to clean up the department of psychology.

Mikhail did not have any options where to live: the apartment and money burned out, the opportunity to spend the night at the institute also disappears, now his plan is to get acquainted with women in clubs and change sex for the night, until there is money. To avoid contact with Michael, Lelya pretends to be an injury. Irina and her ex-husband Vitya are trying to establish a relationship, for this they invite friends to visit.

Pavel becomes a full-fledged sponsor of the team, however, this does not suit Alice - she is against the team playing on money earned from killing animals. Mikhail receives a subpoena. To solve the problem, he must persuade Vitya to withdraw the statement about the accident. Alyosha is invited to a movie by an ex-girlfriend, he thinks that Lelya will not approve of it, but she is not at all jealous.

Pavel sends the team now sponsored to another city to represent his poultry farm in a professional tournament. Before the competition, Mikhail meets his old friends from Moscow, who is afraid to admit that he is now training the women's team of a provincial university. Irina is trying to regain her position as vice-rector for educational work, Mikhail suggests resorting to compromising evidence for the rector.

Michael forgets about his mother’s birthday and is rude to her instead of congratulations in the morning. Tanya comes to the institute in an absurd dress, although she herself does not understand this. The girls doubt whether she should talk about it or whether she needs to support her before her first date with a guy. Lelia tries to apologize to Alyosha, but he does not want to talk to her.

The girls decide not to give all the best to the game with the leaders of the championship in order to lose faster and catch Sergey Lazarev in a concert. Mikhail finds out about this and tries to set up the team to fight. Irina understands that relations with Mikhail cannot be serious, but she is not ready for a fleeting affair either. Alyosha suddenly realizes that no one needs Novochepetsk and decides to leave for her native village.

Lelia is jealous of Alyosha for Alice, despite the fact that she herself kept moving all the time.

Michael is trying hard to apologize to Irina for treason. Girls, despite the ban of Michael, are going to participate in a commercial beach volleyball tournament. Alyosha does not like that Lelya is dressed too openly at the games, and he begins to put pressure on her.

Paul learns that Michael slept with his wife and cunningly takes him to the forest to kill. Girls are forced to enter the game without Mikhail, so Valentina Pavlovna takes charge of the team. Irina begins to suspect something is amiss and goes with Natasha in search of Michael and Paul to prevent a crime.

Zhdanova arrives at the final game at the invitation of Valentina Pavlovna. In case of victory, Mikhail invites Irina to Moscow with her, but she doubts that she has a real chance to win the rector’s election. Alyosha takes responsibility for a farewell gift for Mikhail, but he spoils everything.
