During a stopover in Cologne, they experience a turbulent night during Carnival. In the morning, thanks to Gereon’s father’s intervention, the two fly to Paris as part of Adenauer’s entourage. Right before his eyes, the prisoners begin to be transported from the SA prison to the camp. Among them are Heymann and Katelbach, who are preparing to escape. Their plan fails.
